In Ninh Binh, according to a report by the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the past time, the situation of illegal exploitation of rosewood (Syzygium myrtifolium, Sim family - Myrtaceae) has tended to increase, with complicated developments in some localities, especially in natural forest areas with rosewood distribution.

Illegal exploitation not only causes damage to forest resources, affects the ecological environment but also poses a potential risk of insecurity and social disorder in the locality. Over the past time, the management and protection of forests in some areas of Ninh Binh province has been limited, the coordination between forces has sometimes been not close, and the handling of violations is not sufficiently deterrent.
Faced with the above situation, Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police, People's Committees of communes, wards and related units to strengthen forest management and protection and prevent the situation of exploiting rosewood trees from natural forests in the province.
Strengthen inspection and supervision of forest areas, especially areas with rosewood trees. At the same time, organize patrols and inspections, promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle illegal exploitation acts.
