Just stopping the car at the pump to refuel, the rear trunk of the car suddenly exploded and then caught fire fiercely, killing 2 teenagers sitting inside on the spot.
On May 2nd, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency (CSĐT) of Da Nang City Police informed about a car fire that occurred at Petrolimex gas station No. 90 (Tu My village, Thang Dien commune, Da Nang City) killing 2 people.



According to initial information, at about 3:25 pm on May 1, a car with license plate 92A-265. xx driven by Vo Nguyen Duy An (born in 2002, residing in Tu Nghia village, Thang Dien commune) stopped at gas pump No. 1 of Petrolimex gas station No. 90 to refuel. In the car at this time were also T.H. T (born in 2009, residing in group 2, An Duong village, Thang Dien commune) and D.A. K (born in 2010, residing in Tu Phuong village, Thang Dien commune).
When the gas station staff just brought out the pump to prepare for refueling, the rear trunk of the car suddenly exploded, flames flared up fiercely engulfing the vehicle. Discovering the incident, gas station staff, people and local support forces quickly used fire extinguishers to put out the fire.
About 15 minutes later, the fire was controlled. However, when approaching the vehicle, functional forces discovered 2 victims, T.H. T and D.A. K, dead inside the car.
Immediately after receiving the report, Task Force Area 4 under the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Da Nang City Police quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with the People's Procuracy of Area 6, the Criminal Technical Department, the Fire and Rescue Police Department and Thang Dien Commune Police to organize scene examination, autopsy, collect traces, and related documents to serve the investigation.


Through initial verification, functional agencies determined that at the time of the fire, the car contained about 20-25 blocks of 24V batteries and 9 fully charged children's toy electric vehicle batteries. In addition to 2 fatalities, the fire also completely burned down the car with license plate 92A-265. xx, and a gas pump at Petrolimex gas station No. 90 was also heavily damaged by fire.
The Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Da Nang City Police is continuing to coordinate with professional units to examine vehicles, assess the cause of fire and explosion, and at the same time consolidate dossiers, investigate and clarify the case for handling in accordance with the law.
