On the evening of June 23, functional forces were still actively handling the landfill fire on Dien Bien Phu street (Quy Nhon Dong ward, Gia Lai province).

According to initial information, at about 4:30 pm on the same day, people discovered smoke and fire rising from the land area, so they quickly reported it to functional agencies.
Recorded at the scene, inside the land area there are still many smoldering points. Smoke from the fire rises high, covering the entire area, limiting visibility and causing difficulties for traffic participants.

At the scene, at least 4 fire trucks and many officers and soldiers were mobilized to put out the fire. By the evening of the same day, the fire had not been completely controlled.
Passing by the area, but almost unable to breathe because smoke covers everywhere," Mr. T.D (born 1994, residing in Quy Nhon Nam ward) shared.
Leaders of Quy Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee said that this land area is under local management and is a gathering place for rubble and waste. By the evening of the same day, the fire was basically under control, but inside the piles of waste, there were still many underground fire points.

To thoroughly handle it, functional forces have mobilized excavators to level piles of garbage and waste to approach and extinguish the still smoldering locations. Forces are still on duty at the scene to prevent the risk of the fire reigniting.
The cause of the fire is being verified and clarified by functional agencies.
