North-South expressway will be connected in 2025
With the above goal, in 2025, it is expected to complete component projects, connect the North-South expressway in the East and, together with localities, complete a number of expressway projects.
In recent times, the North-South Expressway project (Phase II) has received special attention from the Government leaders. The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers have directly inspected the project many times and removed difficulties, urged progress, and gradually resolved "bottlenecks" regarding land and materials, helping contractors have the conditions to accelerate construction of items.
It can be seen that on the large construction site, there is always the support of the Government and Government leaders, ministries, branches, and localities, as well as the perseverance and determination to overcome pressure of cadres, engineers, workers, and contractors.
In particular, after the Prime Minister launched the "500 days and nights" emulation campaign, construction sites increased their manpower and equipment by 1.2-1.5 times, taking turns working day and night. Workers worked with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", concretizing it in every action.
In the southern provinces, the important solution to ensure the progress of the North-South Expressway is to share the source of sand for filling. The provinces of Vinh Long, Dong Thap, and Tien Giang have completed the approval of reserves and exploited more sand mines to serve the project.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee - commented: "For projects that have been handed over clean land, we will work with the construction unit to speed up the implementation progress. Secondly, for projects that are still stuck with land, we will focus on removing and resolving the problem completely."
The North-South Expressway project is expected to be completed by April 30 to Quang Tri province. The remaining sections extending to Ca Mau will be completed by the end of this year at the latest.
Caring for the lives of workers who stay to work through Tet
At the 15th meeting of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the transport sector, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches, localities, and competent agencies to direct investors and contractors to coordinate with localities to remove difficulties and obstacles in site clearance, relocation of technical infrastructure, and supply of construction materials.
The Prime Minister requested localities to continue to resolutely implement, promote the highest sense of responsibility, mobilize the entire political system to accelerate the progress of site clearance, in which Party committees at all levels lead and direct departments and branches to organize implementation. Must directly meet, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people to have appropriate and timely policies and regimes; especially during the Lunar New Year At Ty; pay attention and care to the lives of workers who stay to work through the Lunar New Year At Ty at local construction sites, not leaving contractors "lonely" on the construction site.
Investors, consultants and contractors need to have a scientific and reasonable plan to arrange human resources to work throughout the Lunar New Year; regularly pay attention to the lives of workers and laborers at the construction site.
The competent authorities have strengthened inspection and urged contractors to increase machinery, equipment and construction manpower with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to storms", "working in 3 shifts, 4 shifts", "through holidays, Tet, and days off", "eating and sleeping quickly"; "not enough work during the day, working at night" to contribute to speeding up construction progress, bringing projects to the finish line ahead of schedule, especially projects with a plan to complete in 2025 in the category of 3,000km of expressways.
According to the plan, there are 6 North-South expressway component projects in the East phase 2021-2025 to be completed on April 30, 2025. Of which, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi project (over 35km long, passing through Ha Tinh province); Ham Nghi - Vung Ang (over 54km long, passing through Ha Tinh province); Vung Ang - Bung (over 55km long, passing through Ha Tinh and Quang Binh); Bung - Van Ninh (nearly 49km long, passing through Quang Binh province); Van Ninh - Cam Lo (65.5km long, passing through Quang Binh and Quang Tri) and Van Phong - Nha Trang (over 83km long, passing through Khanh Hoa province).
