At about 11:30 am on March 3, a large fire occurred at the plastic pipe and steel business store of Mr. N.V.H, residing in Vinh Phong commune (An Giang province). Because the inside contained many flammable materials, the fire quickly flared up fiercely, a column of black smoke rose tens of meters high, covering the entire residential area.
The time of the incident was midday, the surrounding area had many households living and doing business. The fire spread quickly, accompanied by many loud explosions coming from the warehouse area, causing people to panic and move their property, and at the same time report to functional agencies.
Immediately after receiving the news, on-site forces including military forces, Vinh Phong commune police, neighboring commune police, and security and order teams and local people urgently approached the scene, deploying firefighting measures to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding houses. About more than 70 people were mobilized to participate in extinguishing the fire.
By about 1 pm on the same day, the fire was completely extinguished. The incident did not cause any casualties, but many assets inside the store were burned down, causing great material damage.
Currently, functional agencies are continuing to investigate, clarify the cause and statistics of specific damage.
