In the afternoon of April 10, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of the Party Committee of Cat Tien commune (Gia Lai) confirmed that a serious house fire had just occurred in Chanh Hoa village, causing many deaths.
According to initial information, at about 2 pm on the same day, people discovered a fire breaking out at the house of Ms. T.T. D in Chanh Hoa village, so they reported it to the functional forces.
Upon receiving the news, local authorities urgently arrived at the scene and deployed firefighting operations.
After extinguishing the fire, functional forces conducted an inspection inside the house and discovered that many victims had died.
Initially, it was determined that there may be 4 victims in the same family, including: a 63-year-old woman, a 37-year-old daughter and 2 twin boys in 9th grade. However, the specific identities and numbers are still being further verified by functional agencies.
Currently, Gia Lai Provincial Police are coordinating with relevant units to examine the scene, conduct an autopsy and investigate the cause of the fire.
