Out of tickets" regular buses
On the morning of the 2nd day of Tet, Ms. Tran Thi Linh (Con Cuong commune, Nghe An) called to book a passenger car to go to Hanoi on the evening of the 4th day of Tet. In recent years, there have been more bus companies operating in this mountainous commune, so people have more choices. However, this year, bus companies have all announced "full tickets" early.
I called 3 bus companies, including 1 bus company reporting that there was still 1 last seat available for regular sleeper buses, the remaining bus companies reported that regular sleeper tickets were sold out, only 1-2 seats left for 20-seat buses, but also at the end of the bus.
Because I had to go to Hanoi early for work, I bought a 20-seat bus ticket for 69,000 VND, about 100,000 VND higher than usual days," Ms. Linh shared.
According to Ms. Linh, this Tet holiday, most buses increased prices by about 100 - 150 thousand VND/ticket (depending on the bus line). However, there was no situation of overcrowding.
About 4-5 years ago, there were few cars, so I was haunted every time I went home for Tet because I was crammed. However, in recent years there have been more choices, car companies also run civilly, only receiving enough passengers according to the number of car seats," Ms. Linh said.

According to PV's records, on the 4th, 5th, 6th days of Tet, bus companies running the routes Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Anh Son to Hanoi, Bac Ninh all have very few tickets left. On "ticket pass" groups, people continuously come to post information to find tickets.
Sharing with PV, an employee of a bus company running the Con Cuong - Hanoi route said that usually customers have booked outbound tickets right from when booking tickets to return. Currently, when customers call to ask for tickets, if tickets are sold out, the bus company still keeps the phone number so that in case other customers cancel tickets, they will report back.
