On the evening of July 18, Mr. Tran Ngoc Nam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Mo Cay commune, Quang Ngai province - said that a fire had just occurred in a plastic factory. The authorities are trying to extinguish the fire.
According to initial information from the factory owner in Dam Thuy Nam village, Mo Cay commune, at around 6pm, the workers had completed their work and left. The worker finally cut off the power, locked the factory door and gave the key to Ms. H., who had a house nearby. At around 8pm, Ms. H. heard a small explosion, looked through the window and saw a fire in the workshop, so she immediately opened the door, pulled the water pipe through to spray. However, the fire broke out quickly and spread.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police of Quang Ngai Province mobilized 4 fire trucks to the scene, then increased to 10 vehicles and 70 officers and soldiers. Firefighting is facing many difficulties due to the large factory area, high heat-generating flammable materials, and closed factory structures that prevent smoke and heat from leaking.
According to the People's Committee of Mo Cay commune, the plastic factory was started by a couple from Ho Chi Minh City to start a business in their hometown, currently with about 5 workers working there. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
