Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the investment policy for the Project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 17.
The project is 30.4km long, invested according to the standards of grade III mountain roads with a roadbed width of 12m and a road surface width of 7m, passing through Trai Cau, Nam Hoa, Dong Hy and Linh Son communes and wards.
This is a group B project with a total investment of more than VND 1,948 billion. Of which the central budget supports VND 1,615 billion and the local budget allocates VND 333.958 billion.
On National Highway 17, bridge items, vertical and horizontal drainage systems, technical infrastructure and traffic safety are invested synchronously, creating favorable conditions for travel and trade.
The project implementation period is from 2026 - 2029, divided into 5 components including the construction of the main route, compensation and site clearance support, and 3 resettlement areas in Nam Hoa, Trai Cau, and Linh Son communes and wards.
The total recovered land area is about 45.79ha. Of which, the resettlement area in Linh Son ward is about 6.5ha, and in Nam Hoa and Trai Cau communes, each area is about 2ha.
The renovation and upgrading of National Highway 17 not only serves travel and trade needs but also synchronizes traffic infrastructure, promoting socio-economic development.
