According to a report by the Thai Nguyen Department of Construction, currently the whole province has 6 social housing projects that have been approved for investment policy and assigned to investors. The total scale is up to thousands of apartments.
However, the progress of implementation between projects is still different, and many projects do not meet the conditions for starting construction according to the plan.
2 projects are likely to meet the conditions for commencement. Some projects such as An Phu Social Housing Area, the project in Dong Tien ward are completing procedures. Projects in Diem Thuy and Song Cong still have many obstacles.
The main difficulties are related to site clearance, land fund not yet attached; prolonged investment and construction procedures; technical infrastructure outside fences is not synchronized.
Regarding this issue, Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Loan requested departments, branches, and localities to clearly define responsibilities and focus on removing bottlenecks. Especially site clearance and land allocation procedures.
The Department of Construction presides over reviewing the progress of each project, urging investors to complete dossiers. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinates to accelerate land allocation and environmental procedures.
Localities thoroughly handle cases of slow land handover.
Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee requests investors to proactively allocate sufficient resources and focus on accelerating progress.
In the period 2026 - 2030, Thai Nguyen is assigned to develop 24,800 social housing units. However, based on the provincial planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050, Thai Nguyen has adjusted and supplemented the target to 60,000 units by 2030.
Currently, the whole province has reviewed and identified 73 projects and locations of land funds for social housing development with a total area of about 258.81ha.
To date, the whole province has completed 7,691 social housing units. In 2026, the province will focus on implementing projects that have been approved for investment policy, with about 16,191 units.
It is expected that in 2026, Thai Nguyen will complete about 5,661 units.
In the period 2027 - 2030, the locality is expected to continue to approve the investment policy for the remaining 36 projects.
