Mr. L was punished for 3 violations: changing the business industry and profession but not notifying the district-level business registration agency; doing business in food and beverage services without a certificate of food safety eligibility; not posting the price of goods according to regulations.
Previously, on the evening of May 2, Facebook account H.N posted a post reflecting that he was "ripped off" while eating on a raft floating in Nha Trang Bay.
The article with invoice images shows that the price of box fish is up to 3.5 million VND/kg, diners eat 0.5kg and are charged 1.75 million VND. In addition, the squid dish is priced at 950,000 VND/kg, eating 0.9kg costs 855,000 VND.
The total cost of the two's meal was nearly 2.8 million VND.
Immediately after the information spread on social networks, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan requested Nha Trang City People's Committee to quickly inspect and strictly handle violations if any.
Working with the authorities, Mr. L admitted that the tourists' feedback was correct and that the incident occurred at the floating raft managed by his family.
He said that after knowing the information, he proactively contacted the tourist to explain and refunded 780,000 VND, which the tourist accepted.
The leader of Nha Trang City People's Committee said that after this incident, the city has directed departments and functional offices to comprehensively inspect floating rafts with food and beverage services and welcoming guests in the bay.
