On May 6, Nha Trang City Market Management Team No. 1 said that it had coordinated with relevant agencies to inspect the floating raft, which was accused by tourists of selling box fish for 3.5 million VND/kg.
The above floating bridge belongs to Mr. Pham Vu Linh, in residential group 2 Tri Nguyen, Vinh Nguyen ward, Nha Trang city.
Through inspection, the working group determined that Mr. Linh's raft violated 3 errors. These are unlicensed food and beverage businesses (only licensed for aquaculture), without food hygiene and safety certificates and without listing prices according to regulations.
The delegation has drawn up a record and is completing the dossier to request the Nha Trang City People's Committee to issue a decision on administrative sanctions.
Currently, the Nha Trang City government is tightening the operations of floating food businesses in Nha Trang Bay.
For this type, Mr. Tran Minh Chien - Chairman of Nha Trang City has directed Vinh Nguyen ward to coordinate with Nha Trang Bay Management Board to strengthen propaganda and inspection.
The locality requires rafts without a food service business license to stop trading. For rafts allowed to operate, a commitment must be signed to fully comply with relevant regulations.
Customers agree to eat seafood but then post it on social networks
Some tourists posted on social networks about the bill for charging the total of 2.78 million VND for the two tourists for the dishes and drinks. Notably, single-priced box catfish costs 3.5 million VND/kg, 0.5 kg costs 1.75 million VND. The owner of Hai Dao seafood raft is said to be selling at high prices.
Regarding this, Hai Dao seafood raft said that before processing dishes, the floating raft has listed prices and publicized fresh food for tourists to choose from. When tourists agree, the seafood raft owner will process it.
Explaining the higher selling price of seafood than on land, the representative of Hai Dao seafood raft said that they had to pay more "commissions" for canoes to carry passengers to floating rafts.
This is an "unwritten rule", if the rafts do not take "roses", the canoe owner will not take visitors from the mainland.
Regarding this commission, the representative of Hai Dao seafood raft said that they had notified the tourists and they all agreed.
However, when leaving, the group of tourists posted information on social networks. In response to controversies about seafood prices, Hai Dao seafood raft representatives proactively contacted the tourist group to return the amount of VND 780,000.
