On August 21, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Letter 4736/UBND-KGVX on strengthening disease prevention and food safety to serve the 80th Anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
In order to strengthen disease prevention and control and ensure food safety for people in the capital as well as tourists from localities coming to Hanoi during the Festival, the City People's Committee requested the Department of Health to monitor the epidemic at border gates, medical facilities, and communities; handle cases and outbreaks. Prepare plans, forces, means, medicines, equipment; organize treatment, and assign expertise.
Preside over inspection and supervision of food safety and clean water, especially in key areas, commemorative locations, delegate accommodation, and crowded areas.
The Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Science and Technology coordinate with the Department of Health to propagate and educate about health through information and warning messages, raising awareness of food safety and disease prevention (Current, COVID-19, Dengue Fever, Chikungunya).
The Chairman of the People's Committee of the ward and commune is responsible for ensuring funding, chemicals, and means; implementing the "4 on-site" motto.
Organize general environmental sanitation, kill bedbugs and spray chemicals in areas with high risk of outbreaks. Checking food safety at production and business establishments, hotels, restaurants, event locations, delegation meals, and people's gathering areas. Monitor food pollution risks, handle food safety and poisoning incidents.
Propaganda and mobilize people to take advantage of epidemic prevention and compliance with food safety; mobilize households to promote cultural traditions, support tourists, not speculate, increase service prices.
On the same day, the City People's Committee also issued Official Letter No. 4751/UBND-NNMT on strengthening environmental sanitation and contents to serve the people when organizing the A80 event.
To overcome the situation of many garbage on the road, sidewalk, lack of public toilets, some restaurants, businesses, and surrounding locations have not actively opened to serve personal hygiene needs, lack of free drinking water service points... during the 80th Anniversary of National Day on September 2, the City People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the wards: Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, Ba Dinh, Ngoc Ha, Giang Vo, Dong Da, Cho Dua, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Hai Ba Trung and related departments and branches to conduct field inspections, learn from experience, complete the plan to ensure environmental hygiene (arrange trash bins, appropriate public toilets, use free toilets...), promptly report difficulties, and handle the City People's Committee if it exceeds their authority.
In addition, the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the above wards continue to inspect, review, learn from experience, coordinate to adjust service plans in the management area; regularly grasp information and developments in each area, promptly direct, operate and report to superiors until the end.
