On the afternoon of July 10, Mr. Tran Quang Hoa - Vice Chairman of Nam Nung Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong) said that leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune visited, expressed condolences, encouraged and partially supported the families of 5 students who just drowned in the area.
Leaders of Nam Nung Commune People's Committee sent their regards and deep condolences for the loss and pain of the families whose children drowned; at the same time, encouraged the families to try to overcome the hardship that nothing can compensate for.
Initially, Nam Nung Commune People's Committee has allocated contingency funds to support each family with a drowning victim with an amount of 8 million VND.
Along with that, the Commune Police, the Commune Military Command, mass organizations, schools, village committees, and neighbors also came to visit, share condolences and give part of the support funds to the families of the students.
The Party Committee and People's Committee of Nam Nung commune have also mobilized forces to support families in preparing for the funerals of the victims.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported: at about 8:30 am on the same day, 8 female students, all 11 years old and students of Nam N'Dir Secondary School, invited each other to Dak Pok irrigation lake (Quang Ha village, Nam Nung commune) to swim.
While swimming, 5 children unfortunately fell into a deep water area and drowned. The remaining three children ran back to report to the people and local authorities.
Upon receiving the news, the police force, the Military Command of the commune and people quickly arrived at the scene to organize search and rescue.
At about 11:20 am, functional forces found all 5 victims in a state of death.
The victims include: D. M. T, L.T. Y. C, B.T. T, L.T. N and B.T. N. Y, all born in 2015 (11 years old) and students of Nam N'Dir Secondary School.
