Vehicles can go against traffic for 48km on the Phap Van - Cao Bo expressway

The Traffic Police force is developing a plan to organize vehicles to go against traffic on some sections of the Phap Van - Cao Bo expressway.

Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security, when the traffic volume of vehicles from the center of Hanoi entering the Phap Van - Cao Bo expressway increases, the risk of congestion in the Km211 area, where the road narrows from 3 lanes to 2 lanes, the traffic police force plans to deploy a special traffic organization plan to increase traffic capacity.

According to the plan of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 3 - Room 6, Traffic Police Department, when the actual traffic situation requires it, functional forces can borrow a part of the opposite direction to organize traffic for vehicles heading from Hanoi to Ninh Binh and southern provinces from Km211 to Km259, with a length of about 48km.

Accordingly, for vehicles from Hanoi to Ninh Binh and southern provinces but with turns at intermediate intersections such as Vuc Vong, Phu Thu, Liem Tuyen, Liem Son, vehicles continue to circulate on the normal lane, going in lane No. 2 and lane No. 3 according to the instructions of functional forces.

For vehicles going straight to Ninh Binh and southern provinces, vehicle drivers are instructed to move into lane No. 1, close to the median strip. At Km211, functional forces will organize vehicles to move to the opposite side of the road and circulate in the direction arranged to Km259.

At Km259, the vehicle will be guided to return to the main road in front of the toll station area to continue the journey.

During the implementation of the plan, the expressway direction from Ninh Binh to Hanoi on the section from Km259 to Km211 will not be organized for vehicles to circulate at openings, intersections and related rest stops.

The locations where vehicles are not allowed to enter the direction towards Hanoi include Km259, Km241, Km230, Km226+400, Km219, Km212 and the exit from the rest stop towards Hanoi.

Vehicles that need to travel from the South to Hanoi are instructed to change direction to National Highway 1A to continue their journey.

The Traffic Police Department recommends that the plan for vehicles traveling on the opposite lane should only be implemented when there is organization and regulation from functional forces.

Vehicle drivers must absolutely not arbitrarily change lanes, turn around or enter the opposite lane.

When traveling through the traffic diversion area, drivers need to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance, drive in the correct lane arranged and strictly comply with the orders of traffic police, traffic signs, markers and temporary warning devices on the route.
