Da Nang - Squid fishing boat carrying 50 people sank at sea. Rescue forces rescued 32 fishermen, discovered 1 body, and 17 people are still missing.

According to information from the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region IV, by the afternoon of August 28, functional forces and fishermen's boats had discovered and rescued 32 fishermen and 1 body on the squid fishing vessel QNa 90859 TS of Nui Thanh fishermen, Da Nang, which encountered an accident at sea.

Currently, ships of the fisheries surveillance force and fishermen continue to search for those still missing. The weather in the area has southwest winds of level 5-6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas, causing many difficulties for rescue work.

Previously, in the afternoon of August 26, the People's Committee of Nui Thanh commune (Da Nang City) received information that squid fishing vessel QNa 90859 TS and 50 people on board lost contact, and the family requested search assistance.

The ship, captained by Mr. Huynh Van Tri, with 49 crew members, departed from An Hoa port, Nui Thanh on July 29.

Voyage monitoring data recorded the last signal of the ship at 12:54 PM on August 25th, at a location about 540 nautical miles from Da Nang and about 35 nautical miles west of An Bang Island, Truong Sa Special Zone.

Functional forces are mobilizing more ships operating near the area, and at the same time issuing maritime notices, requesting vehicles passing by to support observation and search for missing fishermen.
