On April 25, a representative of the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that the unit had just issued a decision to apply level 1 enhanced aviation security control measures at airports, airports, and air travel service facilities nationwide.
Accordingly, the Immigration Department requires relevant agencies and units to implement appropriate level 1 aviation security control measures. The application period is from April 26 to May 4.
At Noi Bai International Airports, Da Nang, Tan Son Nhat, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, the Border Guard will notify the decision to airline service providers and foreign airlines operating at airports.
At the remaining airports, the Immigration Department of the Provincial and Municipal Police will be responsible for notifying.
During the application of the level 1 enhanced aviation security control measure, the aviation security force will implement a number of additional measures such as: Increasing the frequency of patrolling in public areas, enhancing control of going/in limited areas, and enhancing screening for passengers.
