On July 18, information from Lai Chau Provincial Police said that in the past time, levels, sectors and functional forces have been focusing on synchronously implementing many solutions to respond to floods, organize search and rescue, overcome consequences and soon stabilize the lives of people in affected areas.
However, taking advantage of public concern about the natural disaster situation, some unverified, untrue or cut and pasted, distorted information about the diễn biến of rain and floods in the province has appeared on cyberspace.
The posting and sharing of these contents not only causes panic among the people but also affects the direction and administration of functional agencies, negatively impacting the security and order situation.

Faced with the above situation, the police agency recommends that people only access and share information from state agencies and official press agencies, and need to carefully verify the content before posting or sharing it on social networks.
Absolutely do not disseminate unverified information, false information or sensational content to promote interaction related to natural disasters and floods.

Lai Chau Provincial Police emphasized that all acts of posting and disseminating false information will be verified and strictly handled by functional agencies according to the provisions of law.
Currently, functional forces are verifying and coordinating to handle a number of cases of posting and sharing unverified information related to the natural disaster situation in the province.
