On March 27, Hanoi City Police said that at 5:20 p.m. on March 26, the Command Information Center - Hanoi City Police received a report from people about a person standing outside the bridge railing on Thanh Tri Bridge, showing signs of wanting to jump off the bridge.
As soon as the information was received, the Command Information Center mobilized a quick response working group from the National Highway Police Department on Social Order to the scene to handle the incident.
At about 15:35 on the same day, the Working Group arrived at the scene and determined that a young man was standing outside, his hand clung to the bridge railing in the area of lamp post 15.
Recognizing that the situation could endanger the young man's life, the Working Group skillfully approached and brought the young man to the area inside the bridge railing safely.
After visiting, the young man said his name was T.Q.H (born in 2000; residing in Soc Son, Hanoi). Mr. H is currently a freelancer, without a stable job, so he had depressed thoughts and planned to commit suicide by jumping off the bridge.
After listening to the young man's sharing, the Working Group kindly encouraged and convinced the young man to give up the intention of committing suicide and try to work hard to take care of his family.
After Mr. T.Q.H's mentality stabilized, the Working Group took Mr. H to the police station to verify the information and contact Mr. H's relatives to pick him up.
