On April 1, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Binh Dinh province said that 7 crew members on two fishing boats of Hue City in distress at sea have been safely brought ashore, docking at De Gi fishing port (Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh) this morning. The health of all crew members is stable.
Previously, at 11:30 p.m. on March 30, fishing boat TTH 91235 TS (capacity of 440CV, with 3 crew members) owned by Mr. Huynh Giao (residing in Hue City) was sunk by waves while en route to shore after a fishing trip at Hoang Sa fishing port. The location of the accident was about 16 nautical miles south of Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai Province).
Immediately afterwards, 3 crew members of the TTH 91235 TS fishing boat were rescued and safely boarded by the TTH 99777 TS fishing boat owned by Mr. Mai Chanh (residing in Hue City, with 4 crew members). However, while moving ashore, the TTH 99777 TS ship had a problem with its steering wheel and had to drift in the waters of Quang Ngai province.
After receiving the report, the fishing boat TTH 94649 TS (also owned by Mr. Mai Chanh) operating nearby came to support. However, due to big waves and strong winds, the TTH 94649 TS ship could not towing the TTH 99777 TS ship to shore.
At 10:30 p.m. on March 31, the TTH 99777 TS boat was flooded with water for more than half of the boat, all 7 crew members had to transfer to the TTH 94649 TS boat to continue to shore.
At about 6:30 a.m. on April 1, the TTH 94649 TS boat docked at De Gi fishing port, bringing all 7 crew members safely to shore.
