On the afternoon of March 22, fishermen fishing downstream of Lam River discovered a young man from Cua Hoi bridge (connecting the national coastal road of Ha Tinh province, Nghe An across Lam River) sowing himself into the river.
Immediately, the fishermen rowed a boat to the where the young man was drowning in an attempt to rescue him. When he was taken to the boat of fisherman Nguyen Nghiem Ngoc (residing in Cua Lo, Vinh City, Nghe An), this young man was exhausted and in critical condition. People performed first aid to let the water in this person's abdomen drain.
A resident gave the warm coat to a young man who was shy and had pale skin. This person said his name was N.T. (28 years old, residing in Dien Chau district, Nghe An), the reason for jumping off the bridge was because of "sadness".
People took Mr. T. to the health station for a health check. By the end of the afternoon of the same day, relatives had come to pick up and take Mr. T. home.
