On February 21, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that Ngoc Lien Commune Police had reported on a suspected poisoning incident due to eating ornamental fish eggs that occurred in the area.
According to reports, at about 5 pm on February 19 (ie, the 3rd day of Lunar New Year), at the house of Mr. Q.N. H. (born 1978, in Kim Thuy village, Ngoc Lien commune), relatives and friends came to visit and wish Tet. Mr. H. slaughtered a fire crocodile (Fuc Loc Tho fish) raised by his family to prepare dishes for guests.
After the meal, at about 6 pm on the same day, 11 people showed symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, suspected food poisoning due to eating caviar dipped in hotpot.
Immediately after that, family members and neighbors took the victims to Ngoc Lac Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment, monitoring and treatment.
At about 1 am on February 20 (4th day of Tet), the patients' health was basically stable and they were discharged from the hospital.
Currently, the health of these people has returned to normal.
