Mekong Delta - After warm Tet days with their families, many workers in the Mekong Delta are rushing to pack their luggage, preparing for their journey back to the factory.

Warm and complete Tet season

For those who are far from home, Tet is not only a holiday but also an opportunity to regenerate energy after a year of hard work. This year, thanks to guaranteed salaries and bonuses, the joy of Tet for workers in the Mekong Delta is even more complete.

Ms. Nguyen Dan Thanh (medical staff in Ho Chi Minh City, from Can Tho) said that thanks to stable income, she can celebrate a prosperous Tet as well as give meaningful lucky money envelopes to her mother and siblings. In particular, family meals and laughter between members have helped her dispel the fatigue of the old year.

This year, my job is stable, so I returned to my hometown to celebrate Tet with a comfortable mindset. It's just simple family meals, but for me that is the greatest happiness. Taking care of my mother, watching the younger siblings happy, I feel I have a lot more motivation to try harder in the new year," Ms. Thanh confided.

Sharing that happiness, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam (worker at My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City, from Can Tho) shared that last year, although the general situation was still difficult, thanks to the company having regular jobs, her income was very stable. The female worker had a Tet holiday of reunion between both paternal and maternal families, enjoying a warm atmosphere with loved ones.

Working all year, I only look forward to Tet to return to my hometown. This year, my income is better, so shopping and gifts for my family are also more decent. Eating and partying does not need to be too fussy, the important thing is the warm feeling when everyone is reunited after a year of wandering," Ms. Tam confided.

Ready for a new journey

Leaving behind the joy of reunion, these days, workers in the Mekong Delta are busy preparing luggage to return to the work cycle.

At a small house in O Mon ward (Can Tho City), Ms. Dan Thanh is checking her belongings to prepare to depart on the morning of the 6th day of Tet. She proactively booked bus tickets early to avoid crowds, taking advantage of going to her rented room to clean up and rest before starting her first shift on the morning of the 7th.

Ms. Thanh expects: "I hope that in the new year I will have a lot of health to work really well. I hope the work will be smooth, higher income so that next Tet I can bring home a warmer and more fulfilling spring for my family.

Similarly, Ms. Tam is saying goodbye to her family to prepare to travel a long distance back to Ho Chi Minh City with her companion. The female worker chose to ride a motorbike in the early morning of the 6th to both save costs and limit traffic congestion and the hot weather of the Mekong Delta. Arriving early also helps her have time to rest and recuperate before entering the production line.

Go up a little early to relax, clean up the rented room to have a happy new year. I just hope this year the company will continue to have many orders, stable jobs so that we can feel secure in production, have money to send home to take care of our family in the countryside," Ms. Tam confided her wish.
