On July 8, Ho Chi Minh City Police organized a ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Security Forces, expressing gratitude to generations of officers and soldiers who have contributed and sacrificed for the cause of protecting national security.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Ministry of Public Security and the Southern Security Professional Department; leaders of the City Party Committee, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; along with hundreds of delegates representing the Saigon - Gia Dinh Regional Security Board (ANT4), the Thu Dau Mot Provincial Security Board, the Ba Ria - Long Khanh Provincial Security Board and forces under the City Police.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Mai Hoang - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police - recalled the heroic tradition of the People's Security Force (ANND) of Ho Chi Minh City Police through 80 years of fighting and growth. During the war years, on the battlefields of Saigon - Gia Dinh, Thu Dau Mot and Ba Ria - Long Khanh, the ANND force overcame countless hardships, built bases in the enemy's heart, collected many valuable intelligence pieces, firmly protected the revolutionary movement, and made important contributions to the Great Victory of Spring 1975.
Entering the period of peace, renovation and integration, the People's Security Force of Ho Chi Minh City Police continues to promote heroic traditions, affirming its role as a "sacred sword" protecting the Party, State and people, effectively serving the cause of building and developing the city.
On behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City Police, Lieutenant General Mai Hoang expressed his deep gratitude to previous generations of leaders, officers, and soldiers. At the same time, the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police emphasized that the entire force will continue to maintain its steadfast bravery, taking honor as the most sacred and noble thing to continue to excellently complete the task of ensuring security and order in the new situation.


On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Police also commended and rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the special emulation period.
