Ho Chi Minh City Police strengthen crackdown on 5 types of crimes

Ho Chi Minh City Police held a launching ceremony to implement the peak period of attacking and suppressing all types of crimes on the occasion of April 30.

On the morning of April 1, Ho Chi Minh City Police held a ceremony to launch a special emulation campaign to attack and suppress crime, lasting for 50 days and nights, from April 1 to May 20, 2025. The purpose of the emulation campaign is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police - said that in April and May 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will organize many important political and cultural events. These activities not only have great significance for the country but also demonstrate the pride of the people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the whole country in general.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Police will implement synchronous and proactive measures early, from afar and at the grassroots level, in order to grasp the situation, forecast the risks of security and order (ANTT). The coordination between levels and sectors will be promoted and help ensure absolute safety for key projects, important political and cultural events, as well as protect security for senior leaders, international visitors, international conferences held in Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, crime suppression will be accelerated during this peak period. Ho Chi Minh City Police will focus on 5 main groups of crimes, including drugs, black credit, street crimes, high-tech crimes and crimes with foreign elements. Measures to prevent, detect and handle crimes will be strongly implemented, protecting security and order right from the grassroots.

State management of security and order, especially for conditional business lines and establishments at risk of crime, will be strengthened. At the same time, patrol and control activities in the area have also been promoted to promptly detect and handle violations of the law.

Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam emphasized that the implementation of this campaign is not only to protect security and order but also contributes to creating a beautiful image of Ho Chi Minh City in the eyes of international friends and people nationwide.
