On the afternoon of June 26, at a press conference on the socio-economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City, Lieutenant Colonel Do Van Dong - Deputy Head of the Road - Railway Traffic Police Department (PC08), Ho Chi Minh City Police informed about the work of testing, issuing and renewing driving licenses and new points to note.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Do Van Dong from March 1, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Police officially received more than 300,000 backlog files from the old Department of Transport. PC08 has coordinated with training facilities and testing centers to review exam organization conditions, install software programs provided by the Traffic Police Department and start organizing testing sessions.

To date, 47 exams have been organized, with more than 13,400 students participating. To thoroughly resolve the remaining records, from now until the end of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Police will continue to organize many exams, giving priority to students with expired health certificates and students before January 1, 2025.
From June 1, 2025, the 600- question test set will be officially applied by the Ministry of Public Security throughout the system. The set is built with a comprehensive comprehensive structure, including knowledge of traffic laws, driver ethics, control techniques, situation handling, traffic culture, fire prevention and fighting skills, rescue.
In which there are 60 multiple-choice questions, focusing on serious errors such as violating alcohol concentration, not giving up priority vehicles, running red lights... If the candidate answers incorrectly any multiple-choice question, even if the total score is still passed, it will be dropped.

The theory and practice exam process both applies automatic technology, helping to score transparently, completely eliminating human intervention. The camera system supervises and records the entire exam process, serving post-inspection and inspection work.
In order to facilitate people, Ho Chi Minh City Police have deployed online public services in registering for testing, issuing new and issuing new driving licenses. People can submit documents, register for exams or change their driving licenses right at home without going to the police, contributing to saving time and reducing administrative procedures.
PC08 also strengthens propaganda and guides people to access online public services, while tightening the process of checking personal data, comparing citizen identification cards, and images directly to prevent the situation of taking the proxy exam, taking the exam, ensuring transparency and fairness in the exams.
