Quang Tri - The engineering force of Military Region 4 will coordinate to build an anti-landslide embankment to fix the problem that caused 12 households to be urgently evacuated.

Quang Tri province had a working session with Military Region 4 to agree on a plan to organize the construction of an anti-landslide embankment in Khe Sanh commune. The project is identified as an urgent task, implemented in the spirit of the "Quang Trung Campaign" to quickly rebuild and repair houses for people affected by natural disasters, according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

It is known that the landslide area is behind households on Hung Vuong Street, Village 3A, Khe Sanh Commune. The main reason is that people used to build soil to expand the area behind their houses, not ensuring technical requirements. When heavy rain lasts for 16 days. On November 11 and 17, 2025, unstable land plots caused serious landslides, directly affecting 12 households forced to relocate.

In that situation, Quang Tri province has declared a state of emergency and issued an order to urgently build an anti-landslide embankment to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and neighboring works. According to the design plan, the volume of fill soil for the project is about 20,000 m3, exploited from mines in the area to shorten transportation time and speed up construction progress.

Major General Hoang Duy Chien - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 said that the Ministry of National Defense has assigned Military Region 4 to coordinate with Quang Tri province to organize the construction of the project.

Major General Hoang Duy Chien emphasized that although the nature of the work is very urgent, it is still necessary to carefully study the plan, ensuring absolute safety for the people and construction forces. Military Region 4 requested the locality to closely coordinate in site clearance, arrange separate routes for construction vehicles, and create conditions for continuous construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams, even in unfavorable weather conditions.

Accordingly, the Military Region 4 Command, in coordination with the 12th Corps, assigned Brigade 384 to directly construct the project, mobilize technical forces, machinery and specialized equipment; Division 968 mobilized forces of officers and soldiers to participate in supporting the people to completely overcome the consequences.

Ms. Thai Thi Nga - Chairman of Khe Sanh Commune People's Committee said that the unit has fully prepared conditions to open a service road to the construction site, as well as the level of support for people to repair their houses according to regulations. The commune has also arranged accommodation for 100 officers and soldiers to serve the construction of the embankment project.

Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee requested the units to deploy the project in accordance with the emergency project process, completing the design documents on the basis of consensus.

On December 14, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches inspected the land mines and agreed to select the land mine in the Tan Hop wind power area to serve the construction of embankments.

Also on December 14, the service road was constructed by the forces despite unfavorable weather and prolonged rain.

On November 30 and December 3, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch 234 and Official Dispatch 1551, directing the Central provinces to promptly overcome the damage after natural disasters. At the online meeting on the morning of December 9, the Prime Minister continued to request to speed up the "Quang Trung Campaign", speed up the reconstruction and repair of houses for families whose houses were damaged by recent natural disasters. Also at this meeting, the Prime Minister criticized Quang Tri province for not implementing repairs for 12 households whose houses were severely damaged by the impact of storms and asked the province to report.
