Interregional branch road has been completed
The inter-regional road project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai province) - has a total adjusted investment of 2,120 billion VND.
Along with the main route, the inter-regional road project also implements Package No. 32: Construction of branch lines, connecting Cam Khe industrial park in Cam Khe commune (winning bid price of more than 96 billion VND from the end of October 2024).
According to records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in mid-August 2026, after nearly 2 years of construction, to date, the branch line with a total length of more than 3km has completed all construction items.
It can be seen that the road built passes through the large fields of the old Phong Thinh commune (now Cam Khe commune), overcomes high hills to form a towering taluy, directly connecting to the main road of Cam Khe industrial park.
The inter-regional branch road is designed according to grade III plain road standards, design speed of 80 km/h, the starting point of the route intersects with the main route at Km23+920, the ending point connects to the main axis road of Cam Khe industrial park.
However, currently, people still cannot travel on the new road. The reason is that the main road in the industrial park is under construction (the section connecting to the inter-regional branch road).
According to Mr. Do The Nam - Deputy Director of Phu Tho Regional Project Management Board, the construction unit at the above location is the investor of Cam Khe Industrial Park - Duc Anh Construction Joint Stock Company.
Breaking the dead end in the west of the 450ha industrial park
Cam Khe Industrial Park is 450ha wide, the eastern side (main gate) of the industrial park connects to National Highway 32C along the Red River, about 800m from the IC10 intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway. Up to now, the main gate on the east side is the only entrance and exit at this industrial park.
For workers in the old Phong Thinh commune area and surrounding areas, although very close to the industrial park if calculated by the arrow, but in fact separated by a row of hills facing the west of the industrial park, so they will have to go around through the center of the old Cam Khe town to be able to enter the main gate in the east.
For example, if calculated from the former Phong Thinh Commune People's Committee area, the arrowway to the industrial park area is less than 1km. However, in reality, the current distance is about 5.5km to reach the main gate, and another 3km to enter the factories on the west side is about 8.5km (going almost a round).
However, the inter-regional branch road will break the dead end in the western side of this industrial park, workers will not have to go around like before, and travel time and distance will be much shorter.
Ms. Ha Thi Van - a worker living in the old Phong Thinh commune - shared: "Currently, many workers from my commune and neighboring areas have to go around when going to work, which is very far and time-consuming. Therefore, we are very much looking forward to the day we can travel on the inter-regional branch road.
Mr. Vinh - a resident living in Cam Khe commune - commented: "I also really hope to soon open the inter-regional branch road, because in addition to helping workers on the opposite side not have to go around, that road will help many people from the IC10 intersection of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway to the old Yen Lap district area faster.
In the near future, when the inter-regional branch road is handed over and put into use, it will shorten the distance and travel time, meeting the expectations of many workers and people.
At the same time, the route will increase connectivity between Cam Khe industrial park and inter-regional roads and many other important traffic routes in the area, contributing to increasing investment attraction efficiency for the industrial park, contributing to socio-economic development.
