At the construction site of Dai Ngai 1 bridge connecting Can Tho with Vinh Long, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang, a welding iron worker at the bridge pier, started working early and worked for about 8 hours under the sun and wind, the sound of noisy machinery. Especially, during the Hung Kings Commemoration holiday as well as the April 30 - May 1 holiday, when many people gather and have fun with their families, Mr. Sang and other workers still chose to stick to the construction site to ensure construction progress.
For me, each working day during the holiday is a meaningful day, because it is an effort for the collective and for a better future of transport infrastructure" - Mr. Sang said.
Mr. Sang shared that he used to work as a construction worker, a heavy job but with unstable income. Participating in the construction of Dai Ngai 1 bridge helps him have a more stable job and take better care of his family.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Commander of Bac Trung Nam Company - informed that the unit still maintains normal construction to ensure the set progress.
The project is organized into two construction teams, each team has about 50 workers directly working, along with a team of technical staff always on duty to support and supervise.
To serve the construction, the unit has mobilized many specialized equipment, including tower cranes and above-ground cranes. These equipment play an important role in installing structures and constructing bridge piers, helping the work to take place more continuously and efficiently.
According to Mr. Tuan Anh, the construction site command always cares for and encourages the spirit of workers, and at the same time makes appropriate adjustments to ensure health and labor safety. Thanks to that, the workforce still maintains a full force and stable working spirit.
According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Commander of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, during the Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday and the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the construction unit still fully ensures regimes and benefits for workers working at the construction site.
Representatives of the contractor consortium informed that package No. 15-XL has a total of 24 construction teams, including: 8 teams constructing platforms, pillars, beams, reinforced concrete slabs and embankments; 2 teams constructing bridgehead roads (routes); 4 teams constructing beams, steel beams and cable-stayed cables; 7 teams constructing the main bridge pillar base. Participating forces include 47 technical staff, 253 workers and 77 machines and equipment. To date, the accumulated construction output of package No. 15-XL has reached 61.98%.
According to representatives of the contractor consortium, the construction process is facing many difficulties and obstacles. The Hau River has a very large daily tidal difference, fluctuating from 3-4m, forcing construction units on the river to arrange personnel depending on the tide.
Dai Ngai 1 bridge is located on National Highway 60, across the Hau River estuary, connecting Can Tho with Vinh Long. The bridge has an investment of nearly 4,000 billion VND, the main span is 450m long.
