These days, on the construction site of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway section passing through the old Ninh Binh province, hundreds of engineers and workers are still busy constructing bridges, culverts, and roadbeds.
Taking advantage of favorable weather, construction teams are maintained in 3 shifts/day to speed up the project completion progress.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tich (from Thanh Hoa) shared: "We determine that this is a key traffic project, so everyone tries to stick to the construction site, stick to work to ensure progress. Workers live and eat right at the construction site. On favorable weather days, we work overtime until 8 pm every day. During the September 2nd National Day holiday, officials, engineers and workers still stay at the construction site, continuing construction. Everyone hopes to contribute to the expressway being completed soon.
Construction throughout the holiday means that many workers have to temporarily put aside time to rest and reunite with their families. However, when the project is entering the stage where it needs to accelerate, the brothers in the team encourage each other to try harder.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Province Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 (project investor) - said: "We have directed contractors to mobilize maximum manpower, equipment, and machinery to organize simultaneous construction throughout the route to shorten project implementation time. Currently, the construction site has about 500 machines and equipment and nearly 1,000 engineers and workers working continuously. Construction teams are arranged in 3 shifts per day.
Also according to Mr. Minh, currently, the construction process still faces some difficulties due to erratic weather, some items have high technical requirements and must ensure synchronization between bidding packages. However, the investor and contractors are proactively adjusting the construction organization plan, increasing manpower and equipment at key locations.
During the National Day holiday on September 2nd, with favorable weather, we have directed contractors to organize construction throughout the holiday. We take advantage of every day, every hour to increase output and compensate for the previously affected progress" - Mr. Minh said.
The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway section through Ninh Binh province is about 25.3km long, with a total investment of more than 9,113 billion VND. To date, the entire area of about 217ha of the main route has been handed over for construction.
The project is designed according to expressway standards, design speed of 120km/h, scale of 4 complete lanes, roadbed width of 24.75m, along with a system of bridges, intersections, service roads and auxiliary works invested synchronously.
The total value of the project to date has reached more than 1,893 billion VND, equivalent to about 45.6% of the construction contract value. The total amount of capital disbursed since deployment has reached more than 4,631 billion VND. The project is being accelerated by units, striving to be completed by the end of 2026.
