The construction site is not on holiday
During the National Day holiday of September 2nd, while many families gather and rest, construction activities still take place regularly at the My Thuy International Port construction site (My Thuy commune, Quang Tri province).
According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, in the eastern wave-breaking dike area, pre-cast wave-breaking quartz blocks at the construction site are transported by dozens of trucks to the construction area. Cranes are gradually lifting each large concrete block, placing them in positions to complete the dike line.

Due to the large and bulky tetrahedron blocks, the transportation and installation process requires close coordination between workers and the technical team. After a period of construction, a fairly long section of the breakwater gradually formed. Outside, many large ships were mobilized to dredge channels at locations in the port area.
Inside the port, dozens of workers focused on constructing the 3rd wharf beam package. The teams mainly installed formwork and reinforced steel for the beam system, and each part of the work was deployed under the supervision of technical staff.

Mr. Dao Ba Linh - technical officer of Linh Ha Joint Stock Company, the unit currently constructing the eastern seawall package and the wharf girder package 3, said that the unit proactively accelerates the progress before and during the holiday to take advantage of time, limiting the accumulation of volume after the holiday. "The closer to the holiday, the more workload is because the brothers want to take advantage of finishing the unfinished items. When in shift, they work continuously, rarely resting hands" - Mr. Linh shared.

To ensure the health and safety of workers, the unit organizes shift construction, rotating between teams. "The company arranges rotation of shifts, working with clear hours, between shifts there is rest time for brothers to regain strength. Anyone working during the holiday is also entitled to benefits, full compensation for rest, so brothers are assured to work" - Mr. Linh said.
Towards synchronously completing phase 1
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phong - official of the Planning and Dispatch Department, Operation and Exploitation Center, My Thuy International Port Joint Stock Company said that the project is planned with 10 ports on a total area of about 685ha, capable of receiving ships up to 100,000 DWT, with a total investment of about 15,000 billion VND.

The project is divided into 3 phases. Phase 1 from 2024-2027, including wharf No. 1 to wharf No. 4, with an expected operating capacity of 12 million tons/year. To date, phase 1 with wharves No. 1 and No. 2 has completed about 95% of the volume. The bridge, wharf, road and storage yard system has completed the main parts, meeting the conditions for operation. Auxiliary items such as office buildings and service houses continue to be completed, expected to be completed in 2026.
Piers No. 1 and No. 2 with about 650m of wharves have been put into operation, capable of receiving ships up to 30,000 DWT. The port has received and loaded and unloaded goods for more than 40 domestic and export ships.

According to Mr. Phong, the investor's goal is to complete and synchronously operate station No. 1 and station No. 2 in 2026. After that, the project will continue construction, striving to complete station No. 3 and No. 4 in 2027.
Recently, the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee requested to focus resources on completing phase 1 items, striving to complete them synchronously in the fourth quarter of 2026, while ensuring safe and efficient port operation.
