At about 7 pm on March 1st, the wind from the field blew strongly. Convoys of dump trucks lined up to carry materials to the construction site. The sound of engines, rollers, and bulldozers harmonized into the characteristic rhythm of a "sleepless mega-construction site". On the section passing through An Giang province, many construction teams were arranged to work overnight to keep up with the progress.

Mr. Duong Van Huy - Construction Technical Team of package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project - said that he has been attached to the project for more than 1 year. "During the day, the sun is harsh, the temperature is high, the road surface is both compacted and steaming hot. Working at night is less stuffy, and it avoids heavy traffic on temporary routes. It's hard, but the brothers are used to it," Mr. Huy shared.
Not far away, a group of workers is spreading a layer of crushed stone. Some are shoveling, some are scratching, some are checking the height. Under the construction site lights, sweat sparkles on the sunken faces. "The night is quiet, so work is more focused. However, absolute safety must be ensured, from the lighting system, traffic signs to traffic diversion," said Mr. Nguyen The Anh - technical officer of package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project (section through An Giang province).
Captain Tran Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Truong Son 11 Steering Committee (12th Corps) - informed that there are currently about 150 officials, engineers, and workers on the construction site along with nearly 100 vehicles, machinery, and equipment mobilized. Taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, the unit organizes continuous construction according to the motto "3 shifts, 4 crews", working day and night.
According to Captain Tran Minh Thanh, the unit determined that if working during the day is not on schedule, it is necessary to increase work at night. "However, do not neglect quality because of chasing the schedule. Each layer of material, each batch of concrete is strictly inspected according to technical standards," Captain Tran Minh Thanh emphasized.

Up to now, package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project has reached a construction volume of 73.8%. To ensure completion and traffic opening of the entire route on June 30, 2026 according to the direction of the Prime Minister, many construction teams are arranged to work in flexible shifts. At night, under the lights of the construction site, vehicles carrying materials still line up to enter and exit. Construction teams are continuously deployed, ensuring technical quality and labor safety," said Captain Tran Minh Thanh.
