The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 4B (section Km3+700 to Km18 - from Lang Son city to the foot of Mau Son mountain) is designed and invested according to the scale of a grade III road, design speed of 80km/h, total length of 13.192km.
The project has a total investment of 988 billion VND from the central budget and is invested by the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
At the end of the year, looking down from above, the road is widened, the surface is covered with new asphalt, winding around villages and vegetable fields in harvest time.
At the construction site, contractors have invested in modern machinery and equipment to ensure stable construction progress. The embankment reinforcement areas are 90% complete. Signage and lighting systems have been installed.
On each road section, workers also diligently paint markers and complete items to ensure traffic safety.
The upgrade has opened up a new traffic "lifeline", bringing many expectations for economic development for the area, especially the development of the Mau Son snow-white tourist area.
Recalling a year ago, near the Lunar New Year 2024, dozens of households with many documents and papers related to land, compensation plans, even divorce decisions of the court... met with reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper to express their concerns, questions, and wishes related to compensation and resettlement of the project.
At that time, Gia Cat commune, Cao Loc district, was the "hottest" place in the story of land clearance.
Mr. To Duc An (Gia Cat commune, Cao Loc district) said: "People used to be very worried about their family life when their land was confiscated to build roads, but now, thanks to the government's support and encouragement, our lives have gradually stabilized."
According to Mr. An, the opening of the main road also brings with it expectations of economic development and trade of goods for the people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao (Gia Cat commune, Cao Loc district) also said: "Previously, the road was narrow and difficult to travel, especially during stormy days. But now the road is bigger and wider, making it much more convenient for people to travel, especially visitors to Mau Son tourist area."
On January 9, speaking with reporters, Mr. Be Duc Minh - Deputy Head of the Lang Son Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said that up to now, the project has been about 95% completed.
"Currently, the contractor is completing traffic safety items, signs, and railings. We are striving to open the road to traffic before the Lunar New Year 2025," said the leader of the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
