Quang Nam - On the morning of December 30, traffic resumed after the new Cau Lau bridge on National Highway 1A completed its first phase of repairs.

Therefore, Road Management Area III announced that all types of vehicles are allowed to pass through the bridge normally from 8:00 a.m. on December 30.

Cau Lau Bridge was newly built and put into operation in 2005, located on Vinh Dien bypass. Over time, some damage has appeared affecting the bearing capacity of the span structure.

In the past week, when Cau Lau bridge was newly repaired, every day hundreds of container trucks and large trucks were diverted through small bridges such as Ba Ngan bridge (Duy Phuoc commune, Duy Xuyen district), Phong Thu bridge (Dien Tho commune, Dien Ban town), causing traffic congestion and obstruction during rush hour, posing a potential danger to road users.

It is expected that the repair time of the new Cau Lau bridge (phase 2) will start after the Lunar New Year, from 12:00 on February 13, 2025 to 16:00 on April 5, 2025.
