In order to ensure traffic order and safety and create favorable conditions for people to return to their hometowns to celebrate the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security will synchronously implement many measures, including the use of specialized motorbikes and cars to guide people on key traffic routes.
According to the plan, during the peak period before, during and after Tet, the national traffic police force will increase the number of on-duty troops, arrange officers and soldiers at the gateways to major cities, national highways, expressways, industrial parks and bus stations to proactively divert and regulate traffic, limiting prolonged congestion.
Notably, at times when traffic volume increases or congestion occurs, traffic police will use motorbikes and cars to lead the vehicle convoy, supporting people to move safely and smoothly on their journey home for Tet. In which, working groups prioritize supporting vehicle convoys led by trade unions, businesses, and social organizations to gather people who need to return home for Tet.

In addition to guiding, traffic police also coordinate with functional forces to organize support points along the route, ready to help people when vehicles encounter problems, need medical assistance or appropriate route advice in complex traffic conditions.
In parallel with support measures, functional forces will strengthen patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents, such as alcohol concentration violations, speeding, overloading, and going in the wrong lane.
Leaders of the Traffic Police Department said that the highest goal of the peak period to ensure traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year 2026 is to reduce traffic accidents in all three criteria, minimize congestion, and at the same time help people feel secure and convenient in traveling and reuniting with their families in the first days of the new year.
