The Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security has just provided information to answer people's questions about the types of papers to carry when driving on the road.
Accordingly, the fanpage of this unit received a question from people with the content "Does the traffic police have the right to inspect and fine drivers if they do not have health certificates?".
Answering the above question, the Traffic Police Department cited Article 56 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety stipulating the conditions for vehicle drivers when participating in traffic.
Accordingly, when traveling on the road, drivers only have to bring the following types of documents:
Vehicle registration certificate or certified copy (with confirmation from a credit institution if the vehicle is being mortgaged); Driver's license suitable for the type of vehicle being driven; Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection for motor vehicles as prescribed;
Certificate of compulsory civil liability insurance of motor vehicle owners.
In case these documents have been integrated into electronic identification accounts such as VNeID or VNeTraffic, submission and verification can be carried out through electronic identification accounts, without paper copies.
The Traffic Police Department affirmed that the traffic police force on patrol and control duty on the road does not check health certificates of vehicle drivers. This is not a mandatory type of paper to be carried when participating in traffic according to current regulations.
However, in some necessary cases, such as when a traffic accident occurs or an incident shows signs of being related to the driver's health condition, functional forces will take verification and investigation measures according to professional procedures to clarify whether the driver's health was guaranteed at the time of driving.
