Information from the Da Nang City Market Management Department, the unit has just implemented a peak plan to fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
From December 24, 2025 to January 10, 2026, Market Management Team No. 11 has deployed forces to strengthen local management, focusing on inspecting business organizations and individuals in Dai Loc and Nam Phuoc communes.
Through actual inspection of 8 establishments, functional forces discovered a series of violations. Market Management Team No. 11 issued a decision to sanction administrative violations with a total amount of 47,250,000 VND. At the same time, functional agencies forced the destruction of violating goods worth more than 23.5 million VND and confiscated many other exhibits.
During the inspection, the Market Management force discovered 3 business establishments with acts of displaying and selling counterfeit trademarks protected in Vietnam.
Specifically, at these establishments, the inspection team sealed a large number of ready-made clothes with signs of counterfeiting The Polo/Lauren Company, L.P. (USA) trademarks. Through inspection, verification and coordination with representatives of the trademark owner, Market Management Team No. 11 made records and fined these units a total of 26 million VND for the act of trading in counterfeit goods.
According to Market Management Team No. 11, in the period leading up to the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, consumer demand and the volume of goods circulating in the market will increase sharply, with diverse designs. To protect consumer rights, the unit will continue to strengthen inspection, control and strict management of the area.
In parallel with the inspection, the unit will promote propaganda and dissemination of laws to raise awareness of compliance of organizations and individuals operating in production and business in the managed area, ensuring a stable and healthy market" - Market Management Team No. 11 emphasized.
According to the peak plan lasting until March 10, Da Nang City Market Management Department will continue to review about 170 key business establishments. Acts of hoarding goods, unreasonable price increases or trading in prohibited and smuggled goods will be strictly handled according to the provisions of law.
