Da Lat stops pilot operation of electric passenger cars

Lam Dong - Lam Dong province has decided to stop piloting the use of electric cars to transport tourists around Da Lat.

On February 11, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province issued a decision to stop the pilot use of four-wheeled vehicles running on electric energy or gasoline engines to transport tourists in Da Lat city.

This decision applies to Da Lat City Tour Company Limited and Tinh An Tourism Service Development Investment Company Limited.

The suspension of operations is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and the Road Law, starting from February 15, 2025.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport to notify the pilot units about the suspension of operations.

At the same time, the Department will preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and the People's Committee of Da Lat city to study Document No. 14330 dated December 31, 2024 of the Ministry of Transport and related legal regulations.

The objective is to advise the Provincial People's Committee on the operation of four-wheeled motor vehicles in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the actual situation in the locality. This entire process will be completed before February 25, 2025.

Previously, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee approved a pilot project to use four-wheel electric vehicles to transport tourists in Da Lat city.

Tourist buses are only allowed to operate on roads in Da Lat city.
