From the evening of July 21, the Central Hydrometeorological Station issued a warning about strong winds and big waves in the waters of Da Nang city and Hoang Sa special zone, affecting maritime activities and fishermen's lives.
According to the bulletin issued at 4:00 p.m. on July 21, Cu Lao Cham and Son Tra recorded winds of level 3-4, waves 0.25m high. It is forecasted that on the night of July 21 and July 22, the Da Nang sea area will have West to Southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2.0-3.0m high. Meanwhile, the sea area of Hoang Sa special zone has stronger winds, level 6-7, gusts of level 8-9, rough seas, waves 2.0-4.0m high.
The warning said that from the night of July 22 to July 23, the Hoang Sa sea area will continue to maintain strong southwest winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, and the risk of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is assessed at level 2.
Notably, on July 21-22, coastal areas and coastal areas of Da Nang are likely to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. Wave height is forecast in coastal waters ranging from 0.5-1.5m, in offshore waters up to 3.0m. The wind direction is mainly from Southwest to Southwest with a flow rate of 0.6-1.2 m/s.
Meteorological experts warn all ships operating in the area to closely monitor weather developments, proactively avoid tornadoes, strong gusts and big waves to ensure safety.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City has also issued a telegram requesting departments, branches, sectors, localities and related units to urgently deploy measures to respond to storm No. 3 according to the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch 112/CD-TTg dated July 19, 2025.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested units to closely monitor the situation and proactively deploy natural disaster prevention and control work, especially in tourist areas, coastal areas, islands, mountainous areas, places for aquaculture, fishing, and mineral exploitation.
