According to the city's Department of Health, Da Nang has 23 public service units under the Department of Health, including 11 hospitals, 5 non-bed units and 7 district health centers.
Regarding human resources, as of December 31, 2023, the total number of permanent and non-permanent employees at medical units in the city is 11,833 people.
Regarding the organization of drug supply for affiliated medical examination and treatment facilities, the City Department of Health has submitted a list of drugs for centralized procurement at the local level for the period 2024 - 2026 in the city and has been approved by the Chairman of the City People's Committee.
In addition, the City Department of Health is synthesizing the drug needs of 4 medical facilities managed by the Ministry and branches located in the area under the List of drugs for centralized procurement at the local level for the period 2024 - 2026 to make a plan to select additional contractors for the above drugs.
In the first 9 months of 2024, the Da Nang Department of Health has regulated drugs under centralized drug procurement contracts and negotiated prices with a value of over 20 billion VND.
Regarding drug procurement at medical facilities, while waiting for the results of local-level centralized drug procurement for the period 2024 - 2026, implementing Resolution No. 60/2022/NQ-HDND dated October 18, 2022 of the People's Council of Da Nang City on decentralization of decision-making authority in the management and use of public assets under the management of Da Nang City, medical facilities are proactively organizing the purchase of additional drug packages to serve medical examination and treatment at the unit.
As of September 30, the rate of full expanded vaccination in the city reached 79.2%. Currently, with the support of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the Department of Health is coordinating with the Department of Education and Training to develop a plan to implement activities to check the vaccination history of children entering preschool and primary schools, and is expected to implement the inspection plan in October and November 2024.
