Da Nang has launched a fundraising campaign to support people in the Central provinces who suffered heavy damage due to storm No. 10 (storm Bualoi).

On the morning of October 1, at the Conference to assess the organization and operation of the 2-level local government model, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee launched a fundraising campaign to support people in the North Central provinces who are suffering heavy damage due to storm No. 10 (storm Bualoi).

The launching ceremony received a positive response from leaders, cadres, civil servants and public employees of the city. All contributed resources will be transferred directly to people in severely affected areas.

Da Nang City Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that the city decided to allocate 6 billion VND to support 4 provinces that suffered the most damage, including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Tri. This is a practical gesture, demonstrating the spirit of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", contributing to sharing difficulties, helping people overcome the consequences of storms and floods, and soon stabilize their lives.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, storm No. 10 killed 29 people, 19 people are missing and 119 people are injured. In terms of assets, 90 houses collapsed, more than 144,000 houses were damaged, the roofs were blown off, and nearly 14,000 houses were deeply flooded. Nearly 27,000 hectares of rice, crops and more than 9,500 hectares of seafood were damaged. Traffic was cut off at more than 1,100 points, many dykes, riverbanks, and coasts were seriously eroded. About 6,267 power poles fell, causing widespread power outages in some Central provinces.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms No. 8, 9, 10 and floods caused by the storm have killed 19 people and many people are missing. Many houses and production and business establishments had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern and central mountainous provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
