On the morning of December 10, giving a speech at the 5th Session of the 10th Da Nang City People's Council, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, acknowledged the city's comprehensive achievements in 2025. According to Mr. Quang, despite facing a volatile world context, pressure from the arrangement of the apparatus, operation of the two-level government model and the impact of natural disasters, Da Nang has still achieved comprehensive results in many fields. The economy maintained a good growth momentum with GRDP estimated to increase by 9.18%; state budget revenue increased compared to the same period. Tourism has recovered strongly, many key projects have been started and inaugurated.
In particular, social security work has been ensured, notably the completion of the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. "Those results are the crystallization of the will, efforts and responsibility of the entire Party Committee, government, business community and people of the city", the Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized.
In that spirit, the Secretary of the City Party Committee has suggested 5 key tasks, suggesting that the City People's Council focus on discussing and finding feasible solutions to implement in 2026 with the theme "Year of effectively promoting the two-level local government model, specific mechanisms and policies, promoting investment attraction, promoting economic development and ensuring social security".
First, the People's Council needs to seriously evaluate the results in 2025, clearly identify the shortcomings and limitations to select breakthrough and feasible decisions for 2026.
Second, focus on research and thorough discussion to approve important resolutions on the 5-year development plan, medium-term public investment, budget decentralization and social security policies, creating a solid legal basis for development.
Third, we must receive and question the People's Committee and departments and branches about issues that concern voters such as high prices of construction materials, planning, social housing, healthcare, education and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
Fourth, right after the session, it is necessary to urgently concretize and organize the implementation of resolutions, ensuring that policies are soon put into practice.
Fifth, prepare well the conditions to successfully organize the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, and soon establish the Ethnic Committee of the City People's Council.
In particular, regarding the urgent task from now until the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo, the Secretary of the City Party Committee requested the entire political system to focus on effectively implementing the Quang Trung Campaign according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
"Immediately build new houses and repair houses for households affected by storms and floods, complete before Tet so that every family has a safe and warm roof to welcome Spring", the Secretary of the City Party Committee directed decisively.
In addition, all levels and sectors must pay special attention to taking care of the lives of meritorious people, poor households, and households affected by natural disasters; strictly control the market, stabilize prices, ensure food safety so that people can enjoy spring and celebrate Tet safely and excitedly.
