On the afternoon of February 5, the Da Nang City Market Management Sub-Department (under the Department of Industry and Trade) said that through a surprise inspection before Tet, functional forces discovered 2 establishments trading in smuggled food, including hundreds of expired products, with a total value of violations of more than 66 million VND. The unit issued a decision to impose administrative fines totaling 44.5 million VND.
Previously, Market Management Team No. 2 coordinated with the Economic Security Department - Da Nang City Police to conduct a surprise inspection of a business establishment in Thanh Khe ward. Through inspection, functional forces discovered that this establishment was selling 1,933 imported food products without legal invoices and documents. Notably, among these, 990 products were expired, with a total value of violating goods of more than 17.5 million VND.


On the same day, functional forces continued to inspect another business point in Hoa Khanh ward, discovering 524 imported food products without invoices and documents, with a total value of violations up to 48.72 million VND.
Market Management Team No. 2 made a record of administrative violations, temporarily seized and sealed all 2,457 products that were smuggled food and expired food, and completed dossiers to submit to competent authorities for decision on handling according to regulations.
According to a representative of Market Management Team No. 2, in the coming time, the unit will continue to strengthen information collection, verify establishments with signs of violations; focus on inspecting in key areas, warehouses, goods gathering points and goods that are strongly consumed during Tet such as alcohol, beer, cigarettes, food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.
In particular, functional forces will tighten control of business activities in the e-commerce environment to promptly detect and strictly handle violations of the law.
