During the 6-day Tet holiday of Binh Ngo 2026 (December 27 of the year At Ty 2025 to January 3 of the year Binh Ngo 2026), the Traffic Police force of Da Nang City Police discovered 1,574 violations, fined more than 4.2 billion VND. The whole city recorded 4 accidents, killing 2 people and injuring 2 people.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of accidents decreased, the number of injured people decreased by 10 people, but the number of deaths increased by 2 cases.
The Da Nang City Traffic Safety Board said that in the first 3 days of the new year (from the 1st to the 3rd day of Tet), the Traffic Police force organized 208 patrols with 682 turns of officers and soldiers participating in controlling on roads.
Through inspection, working groups discovered 498 cases of traffic safety violations, estimated fines of more than 1.5 billion VND. Among them, 22 cases were fined on the spot with a total amount of 68.7 million VND; 143 vehicles were temporarily seized.
Notably, functional forces have sent 279 "cold fines" notices for violating vehicles recorded through professional technical equipment but unable to stop vehicles at the time of inspection. Violation handling through camera systems continues to be strengthened, contributing to raising people's awareness of compliance.
Not only on roads, during the 3 days of Tet, the Traffic Police Department also arranged 4 shifts with 18 turns of officers and soldiers to patrol and control on inland waterways to ensure traffic safety and prevent accidents during peak holidays and Tet.
The city police said they will continue to maintain the intensity of patrols and inspections, focusing on handling violations that are direct causes of accidents such as alcohol concentration violations, speeding, going in the wrong lane... to ensure people's safe and complete Spring travel.
