The Memorandum of Understanding marks the official commitment to cooperation between Oxford University and Tam Anh Research Institute (TAMRI), Tam Anh General Hospital System, aiming to create medical solutions based on scientific evidence, contributing to shaping decisions in the field of healthcare, improving treatment effectiveness and bringing practical benefits to the community.

Representing the council of professors and leaders of Oxford University, Associate Professor Proochista Ariana (In charge of International Development, Oxford University) said that the focus of cooperation between Oxford University and Tam Anh Research Institute (TAMRI), Tam Anh General Hospital System is to conduct basic research and develop innovative solutions to address medical challenges, the increasing burden of non-communicable diseases (cancer, cardiovascular diseases, ...), aiming to improve people's health.
"Oxford University highly values this partnership and the opportunity to learn from Vietnamese colleagues. I am very impressed with the research and innovation capacity of Tam Anh General Hospital System and look forward to contributing to the achievements that Tam Anh has achieved to create long-term and sustainable solutions to medical challenges in Vietnam," Associate Professor Proochista said at the ceremony.
Present at the ceremony, Professor David A. Clifton of Oxford University, the world's leading expert on medical artificial intelligence (AI), expressed his hope for the opportunity to cooperate in developing medical AI between the UK and Vietnam to improve access to healthcare in both countries. Cooperation with Vietnamese medical enterprises will promote innovation in this field and have great opportunities to build new systems, apply advanced AI technology, and lead the Southeast Asian region.

Dr. Phuong Le Tri, Executive Director of Tam Anh Research Institute (TAMRI), emphasized that the development goal of Tam Anh medical system is to approach the world's modern, orthodox scientific trends to improve the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment and patient safety, and provide good care for the community's health. Therefore, Tam Anh pays special attention to accessing scientific research on new medical solutions, enhancing cooperation and exchange with major medical centers in the world such as Oxford University.
According to the memorandum, the two sides will focus on developing specialized training courses and skills development for researchers and medical professionals; promoting exchange activities, internships and participation in specialized seminars. Oxford University and the Heart and Mind Research Institute (TAMRI) also commit to sharing knowledge and non-confidential specialized documents to update the latest medical advances, improve common understanding and promote breakthrough research ideas.

According to Dr. Phuong Le Tri, the cooperation with Oxford University is an important step in the development strategy of Tam Anh General Hospital System and Tam Anh Research Institute (TAMRI), because the combination of international experience and domestic research capacity will promote the development of Vietnamese medicine.
“Through this cooperation, Tam Anh hopes to enhance the research capacity of the team of experts and doctors, help them access the world's leading medical examination and treatment methods and technologies, and contribute to training a generation of talented young medical researchers for Vietnam. This is also an important stepping stone for the establishment of Tam Anh University in the near future, contributing to realizing the goal of building an international-class medical training and research center in Vietnam," emphasized Dr. Phuong Le Tri.
This collaboration demonstrates the commitment of the University of Oxford and the Heart and Mind Research Institute (TAMRI) to promoting innovation, applying advanced technology, and effective education to enhance research capacity, develop expertise, and build a sustainable research ecosystem.

As early as March this year, it is expected that many delegations of professors and scientists from Oxford University will visit and work at TAMRI and Tam Anh General Hospital System to implement projects in many fields.
