On August 26, the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee said that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee had just met, discussed and given opinions on the draft Resolution stipulating policies to support funding for buying health insurance cards (HI) for elderly people who do not have cards in the province, along with many other important contents.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee considered the draft Resolution stipulating financial support for buying health insurance cards for elderly people who do not have health insurance cards in Dak Lak province.
Regarding this draft resolution, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee agreed on the policy of submitting to the Provincial People's Council for promulgation a resolution to support funding for buying health insurance cards for elderly people who do not have cards.
According to forecasts, the policy will support more than 83,700 people aged 60 to under 75 who are eligible. The total implementation cost is estimated at about 114.4 billion VND per year, from the provincial budget.
The development of health insurance support policies for the elderly is expected to contribute to expanding the coverage of health insurance, creating conditions for the elderly, especially those who do not have the conditions to participate in health insurance, to access health care services when needed.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested relevant agencies to continue to carefully review subjects, data and ensure resources to implement health insurance support policies for elderly people without cards in the province.
The Provincial Party Secretary noted that it is necessary to regularly update the number of people eligible for support because the group of subjects from 60 to under 75 years old always has fluctuations. The review must ensure that policies are implemented for the right subjects, publicly, transparently and in accordance with budget balancing capacity.
At the same time, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested to practice thrift in recurrent expenditures, strengthen solutions to increase budget revenue, especially revenue from taxes, fees and charges, thereby creating more resources to implement long-term and sustainable social security policies.
The policy of supporting the purchase of health insurance cards for the elderly is considered one of the solutions contributing to improving the quality of people's health care, towards the goal of ensuring social security and improving the quality of life of people in Dak Lak province.
