Dak Lak - The provincial government has been and is shaping three development pillars to break through in the new stage.

On July 12, Mr. Do Huu Huy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - said that the locality is focusing on creating new growth drivers, aiming to become the development center of the Central - Central Highlands region.

According to Mr. Do Huu Huy, in the new context, Dak Lak cannot continue to develop solely based on traditional advantages, but needs to create growth drivers on the foundation of regional linkage, green economy, modern infrastructure and innovation.

Besides the strengths in forests and agriculture, the province also has a lot of development potential thanks to a large land fund, young labor force, the location connecting the Central Highlands with the Central coast and the potential for industrial, logistics, service and green economy development.

To realize this goal, Dak Lak has identified three key development orientations.

First, develop a "green resource base", taking forests, agriculture, renewable energy and natural resources as the foundation for sustainable growth. The province sets a target to protect more than 1 million hectares of forest according to international standards; develop underground forest economy, exploit carbon credit markets, promote ecotourism; and promote high-tech agriculture and deep processing to enhance the value of agricultural products.

Second, build an open economic zone and inter-regional logistics center, connecting the Central Highlands with the Central coast. Accordingly, the province will invest in a system of shallow ports, logistics centers, specialized transport corridors and industrial park chains along connecting routes to reduce logistics costs, improve competitiveness and expand development space.

Third, develop marine industry, metallurgy and shipbuilding on the basis of effectively exploiting the complementary advantages between the Central Highlands and the coastal region. According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Dak Lak needs to shift from the role of supplying raw materials to deeper participation in the production, processing and export chains to increase the value of the economy.

To implement the above strategies, the province identifies four key drivers including developing transport infrastructure, economic zone infrastructure, science and technology, and high-quality human resources.

In which, key projects such as the Buon Ma Thuot - Phu Yen expressway, the railway line connecting the Central Highlands with the Central coast, upgrading Buon Ma Thuot Airport, building an inland port, logistics center and digital infrastructure are expected to create a breakthrough in connectivity, attract investment and expand the market.

In parallel with infrastructure development, Dak Lak will promote the construction of research and innovation centers; develop high-tech agriculture, smart processing industry; and at the same time focus on training high-quality human resources to serve key economic sectors.

Policy decisions must be based on data, evidence and practical effectiveness; strengthen regional linkages, inter-sectoral coordination, while ensuring harmony between economic development and environmental protection, preserving cultural identity and improving the quality of life of people.

With advantages and available potential, Dak Lak sets a goal of rapid and sustainable development, gradually becoming an economic, logistics, high-tech agriculture and processing industry center of the Central - Central Highlands region, making positive contributions to the overall growth of the country," affirmed the Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee.
