On April 27, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Finance informed that the locality is still urgently implementing a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households.
From the beginning of the year to mid-April 2025, the whole province has implemented support for new construction and repair of 2,943 units (total of 7,312 units), reaching 40.25% of the plan.
Of which, 2,722/5,891 new houses have been built, 221/1,421 houses have been repaired and 135 houses have been handed over for use.
In early March 2025, Dak Lak Provincial Police simultaneously deployed the construction of houses for poor and near-poor households according to the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.
Mr. Y Than's family (Buon Ho town) is one of the first households to receive support in this period. For the past 5 years, his family's level 4 house has been seriously degraded.
Every time it rains, water leaks everywhere, the whole family has to squeeze into a small corner to do daily activities.
"Thanks to the attention of the government, my family now has a new, spacious place to live, can work and produce with peace of mind, raise children to study and determined to escape poverty," Mr. Y Than emotionally shared.
Previously, at the 18th thematic session, term X, term 2021 - 2026 on April 25, the Provincial People's Council voted to approve the draft Resolution regulating the level of support for the provincial budget to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area in 2025.
In particular, the locality stipulates the support expenditure levels with specific figures for each beneficiary in accordance with current regulations.
In 2025, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to build 4,285 houses for poor and near-poor households. The total implementation cost is 342.8 billion VND.
Of which, the Central Government supported more than 257 billion VND, the province contributed 85.7 billion VND. Each house is supported with 80 million VND.
