On June 9, the People's Committee of Dak R'lap district held a working session to inspect, verify and propose a solution to handle the case of many agencies and units in the area being reported to have outstanding loans for restaurants, fresh flowers and stationery.
Attending the meeting were leaders of the District People's Committee, heads of specialized agencies, representatives of public service units under the District People's Committee, associations assigned by the Party and the State, along with Party Committee Secretaries and Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and towns of Kien Duc.
The People's Committee of Dak R'lap district assigned the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and towns of Kien Duc to review, compile statistics and specifically report on the situation of outstanding debts of agencies and units towards service providers.
The People's Committee of Dak R'lap district requested relevant units to propose a plan to completely handle the debts before the end of the term of the district-level government.
Previously, Chairman of Dak R'lap District People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Quang Tu - signed a decision to establish an Inspection Team to verify press reports on the situation: "Commune and town authorities in Dak Nong owe money for food to stationery and fresh flowers".
The inspection team is responsible for verifying according to its authority the relevant collectives and individuals and reporting the results to the Dak R'lap District People's Committee for consideration and direction of handling according to the provisions of law.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that a restaurant in the area accused the People's Committee of the commune and town of owing nearly 180 million VND in unpaid rice and water for 9 years.
After the article was published, many other businesses also spoke up to denounce the agencies of communes and towns that have owed money for purchases for many years, including items such as stationery, fresh flowers, drinking water and gifts... with a total amount of about 170 million VND.
