On June 7, the Standing Committee of Dak R'lap District Party Committee (Dak Nong) requested the District People's Committee to direct Kien Duc town and communes to review and thoroughly handle outstanding debts.
Mr. Phan Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Dak R'lap District Party Committee - said that recently, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has received petitions from many business households. Currently, some localities still have long-term debts to business households in the area.
Faced with this situation, the Standing Committee of Dak R'lap District Party Committee requested the District People's Committee to direct relevant units to review and completely handle the debts.
For debts arising from previous terms, the District Party Committee requested the District People's Committee to direct a review to have a final handling direction before merging commune-level administrative units and ending the operation of the district-level administrative apparatus, to ensure the rights of business households.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that a restaurant in Dak R'lap district accused the officers of the People's Committees of communes and towns of owing nearly 180 million VND in rice and water for 9 years but still have not paid.
After the article was published, many more business households in Dak R'lap district continued to accuse officials of the People's Committee of communes and towns who have owed money to buy goods for many years.
This includes debts for stationery, fresh flowers, water, gifts... with a total amount of about 170 million VND.
